CM Mamata Banerjee suffered a ligament injury when she was travelling to Siliguri, North Bengal.
Due to the bad weather her helicopter made an emergency landing at Sevoke airbase, Siliguri.
Because of this ligament injury Mamata Banerjee underwent a minor knee surgery on Thursday at the state run SSKM hospital situated in Kolkata. Before the operation a CT scan was performed of her left knee. She was admitted to a VVIP cabin of Woodburn block of this hospital.
There was a swelling in CM’s left knee joint which was likely due to excessive collection of fluid around the area, because of the injury she couldn’t campaign for Panchayat polls for past few days.
- She was advised to stay there overnight but she decided to go back to her home. After she got discharged she was seen accompanied by nephew Abhishek Banerjee who is also the General
Secretary of Trinamool Congress. Doctors further advised her to have limited movements and gradually start physiotherapy at her home. Before she got operated doctors from SSKM hospital provided physiotherapy to her at her Kalighat residence.
