*Tillotama wants JUSTICE!*
It looks like the nature is also with people of Kolkata seeking justice Tillotama (RG Kar case). The mercury dropped and continuously raining in order to show nature’s fury as a symbol of protest. The latest movement in the case is the arrest of Sandip Kumar Ghosh (former principal of RG Kar hospital) and Abhijit Mondal (Tala police station officer in charge) on Saturday accused of misleading the investigation of the case. Along with this, one more vital point is noted by the court i.e. 14 hours delay in registering the FIR. According to the CBI there has been larger conspiracy behind this heinous act. It is found that the OC has consulted the former principal about what should be done when the victim’s body was found. They both were in regular touch while they discussed about each and every move of the police. Slogans and rallies in front of court followed by protest all over Kolkata by different job sectors calling all the people to be united for this cause and make the process fast as we know justice delayed is justice denied. Not only people of Kolkata but all over worlds eyes are on this judgment of this case. While CM’s fabricated efforts of holding meeting with the junior doctors went futile as there was a dispute over a recording of the meeting.
The people are in sync with the demands of junior doctors which includes punishment of all culprits involved in this act right from top level to lower level, action against former principal Sandip Ghosh, resignation of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and senior officials of state’s health department along with this increase of security for doctors in state run hospital.
Protest rallies and demonstrations are going on in different parts of the city. In Newtown, Saltlake the IT professionals took out rallies with placard and posters. In Behala women took out rallies and in Jadavpur retired members of armed forces and alumni of Sainik school also protested. All the eyes are on the Supreme Court’s hearing which is going to take place on September 17.
